By Lieutenant Scot Best
October 17, 2008
At approximately 2020, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Ridge VRS was dispatched as an additional for a two vehicle T-bone collision at the intersection of Willows Road and state Route 5 in Park Hall. Lexington Park VRS (Co. 39/38) and Second District FDVRS (Co. 6) were already on the scene providing patient care. There were a total of 6 patients... 1 in a mid-size pick-up and 5 in an SUV. The patients in the SUV had to be extricated by Bay District VFD (Co. 3).
On arrival, Chief 3 (Incident Command) directed A499 to assisted with a signed refusal (driver of the pick-up; no injuries; refused transport). One patient from the SUV, under the care of LPVRS, was flown to PG Shock Trauma in Trooper 7, while the remaining 4 SUV passengers were transported to St. Mary's Hospital by A499 and other ambulances from Second District and Lexington Park.
