| On December 4th, 2010, the Officers and Members of the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad held their 61st Annual Installation of Officers. This year's installation was dedicated to recently deceased Life Member Ernie Bean. The evening started with cocktails at 5:30pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall located in Ridge, MD. At 6:30pm, the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Doug Medley, introduced himself and invited all to a wonderful dinner prepared by the Knights of Columbus. After the meal, MC Doug Medley continued with an introduction of all the guests in attendance and then Mr. Bill Jones, 1st Vice President of the Maryland State Firemen's Association, inducted all incoming Executive and Line Officers. During the awards ceremony, President Amy Raley and Chief George Gatton presented several certificates of appreciation to the surrounding Fire and EMS Companies that have provided mutual aid and assistance throughout 2010. Following that, awards were presented to the Ridge VRS members as follows:

The Titus Family came forward to present the Joseph C. Titus Leadership Award. The Award, which is ran and monitored by the Titus Family, is for the Ridge VRS member who has shown great leadership qualities in their duties and their life. This year's recipient was Joe Greer.
Following the awards, members and guests were entertained into the night by DJ Coop (Sam Cooper).
The Officers and Members of the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad would like to thank the Knights of Columbus for providing such a wonderful meal, the crew from the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad for providing a fill-in crew so that our members could enjoy the evening, Debbie Fairfax and Lisa Schumann for providing great bar-tending services, Doug Medley for providing us an outstanding MC for the evening, and DJ Coop (Sam Cooper) for the great music. We look forward to another successful year in 2011! |
