At 05:03 hours, Company 49 was alerted to a motor vehicle accident with one entrapment on Trapp Rd, just in from Three Notch Rd. The vehicle was reported to be overturned in a ditch. Chief 49A (D. Drury) and Chief 4 (F. Raley) were first on the scene and informed dispatch that the patient was unconscious and requested a helicopter. A499 and A497 responded and arrived within minutes of the call. The crew from A499 began patient care as firefighters from Ridge VFD (Company 4) and NESEA (Company 14) stabilized and cut the vehicle open to gain access to the trapped patient. Engine 43 set up a landing zone for MSP Trooper 2 behind Carrol's Equipment, just off Trapp Rd. Once the patient was removed, he was transferred to Trooper 2 for transport to Prince George's Trauma Center. A497 transported one firefighter to St. Mary's Hospital for heat exhaustion.
