At 0930 on 11/7, Company 49, ALS and Companies 4 & 14 were alerted to a residence in Ridge for a reported male patient in cardiac arrest. A496 (Chief 49A) made the response and arrived on scene first finding a male not breathing with CPR in progress. The crew immediately took over upon arrival, giving chest compressions and artificial ventilations. After approximately ten minutes of CPR, the patient began to show signs of ROSC (Return of Spontaneous Circulation.) With this, the patient was immediately loaded onto a stretcher and transported to St. Mary's Hospital. Due to the efficient and successful teamwork of the units on scene (A496, SQ4, E141 and M4), the patient was successfully transferred to the local hospital for definitive care.
