At 1737, the RVRS, along with RVFD, NASFD and LPVRS were alerted to the area of Three Notch Rd and Kessler Way for the reported motor vehicle accident. Within minutes of the dispatch, all units were en route. Ambulance 496 arrived on scene shortly after Rescue Engine 42 and began patient care with the crew from the rescue engine.
After further assessment, EMS determined that the patient in the vehicle needed to be flown to a trauma center, Category Bravo, Priority 2. At this time, Fireboard advised an approximate fourteen minute ETA for Trooper 7. Ambulance 496 responded to the landing zone at Carroll's Equipment and continued patient care until the arrival of the Trooper. At this time, patient care was turned over to Trooper 7 and Ambulance 496 returned to service shortly after.
