Pedestrian Struck in St. James
By Ridge Volunteers
February 4, 2014
Shortly before 2140, Communications dispatched Companies 4, 14, 49, 39 and the medic to the area of the Rod 'N Reel in Dameron for the reported pedestrian struck. Shortly after dispatch, Paramedic Ambulance 496 and Ambulance 498 were on the road.
First arriving Command 4 found a single male subject laying face down in the roadway. Rescue Engine 42 arrived behind the command unit and began patient care. Paramedic 496 was shortly behind them, and the paramedics from 496 and Medic 2 took over patient care. Based on initial assessment and speed involved, a Category Bravo, Priority two flyout was requested. Due to rain and snow in the area, all helicopters were down.
Paramedic 496 transported the single subject priority two to Prince Georges Hospital.
